Cookies and Local Storage Policy

Version 0.0.1 · effective 24 August 2026

All documents

1 · The short version

Datta's website uses no cookies. None. No pixels, no third-party analytics, no social buttons that track you. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. The only thing the site stores in your browser is your language preference.

The desktop console stores on your machine the minimum it needs to work (your session, your theme, your settings). The mobile app keeps its data in app storage, uses no cookies, and ships no analytics or advertising SDK.

2 · Actual inventory: datta.global website

NameTypePurposeDurationThird party?
langlocalStorageRemember the language you chose (ES/EN)Until you clear itNo, first party

That is the whole table. Verified in the code (the site's only storage write) and in a live load: zero cookies, zero sessionStorage, zero requests to third-party domains: even the fonts are served from our own domain.

Site analytics: self-hosted, cookieless, non-identifying analytics is prepared (Umami, at analytics.datta.global) and is currently off: the site ID is empty, so the script never loads. When it is turned on it will store nothing on your device, will not identify you, will not track across sites or apps, will share nothing with third parties, and its counts will be kept for twenty-five months at most. We will update this policy before turning it on.

Contact/early-access form: submits to Datta's own rate-limited endpoint, which writes nothing to a database and masks your IP in logs; the email goes out through our transactional email provider. None of that uses cookies.

3 · Actual inventory. Datta desktop console

The console is a desktop application (not a website): it uses no cookies, but it does use local storage on your machine:

KeyPurposeCategory
datta-console.sessionYour signed-in session (tokens)Strictly necessary
device tokenRecognizing this machine as yours (security, step-up)Strictly necessary
datta-console.design.v1Theme, colors, font sizePreference
inactivity lock minutesSecurity auto-lockStrictly necessary
datta-console.vault-urlTest environments onlyTechnical (not in production)

The console has no telemetry or analytics; its local activity log lives on your machine and is forbidden from containing personal data. It talks only to api.datta.global, the packaging does not allow any other origin.

Technical note, said out loud: console session tokens currently live in localStorage and moving them to the OS keychain is decided. This does not change what this policy says (it remains strictly necessary storage), but it is a security weakness we acknowledge and are closing.

4 · The mobile app

The app uses no cookies. It keeps your data in application storage: a local database, plus the operating system's secure storage for credentials. It ships no analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDK, verified dependency by dependency. Push notifications use the operating system's messaging service Cloud Messaging with its analytics explicitly disabled, and the Android advertising-identifier permission is stripped from the package.

The app's usage analytics, when it exists, will be first party: events will go to Datta's own servers, with no SDK in between, no account identifier, and no persistent device identifier. It is described in detail in the privacy policy. It is not live today.

One clarification about something that is read and is not tracking: the first time you open the app on Android, the parameter with which Google Play recorded the installation is consulted, solely to take you to the link you arrived from. It is read once, not stored, and does not leave the device.

5 · Non-tracking signals (GPC / Do Not Track)

Datta does not sell data, does not share it for advertising, and does not track across sites or apps, so "Global Privacy Control" and "Do Not Track" have nothing to switch off: the state they request is already the default. The usage measurement we do run is not tracking, because it does not identify you, does not follow you over time, and never leaves Datta; even so, you have a switch of your own to opt out of it. If the product ever adds processing those signals govern, we will honor them and update this policy first.

6 · Changes

The "last updated" date and version history of this policy live at datta.global/legal. If a change ever requires your consent (e.g. a non-essential cookie), the site will ask before writing it: today that case does not exist.
